For various reasons individuals may have difficulty in choosing which treatment will work. Sometimes, those individuals try multiple remedies to try to find one that works. In order to choose the right hair loss remedy, those individuals need to follow a few steps.
First of all, persons experiencing hair loss need to determine why they are losing hair before deciding on treatment. After determining the cause, the next action may occur. Looking at the various reasons, there are different types of hair loss remedies to choose. A brief list of causes are heredity, aging, high stress, poor nutrition, hormonal changes, and so on. It has often been said that rapid hair loss is one of the early indications that a person might be suffering from a thyroid problem.   Because hair cells are amongst the body's fastest growing cells, when the body has a problem, it can 'shut down' the hair cells to redirect that energy to other parts.  Therefore, thinning hair or even, in many instances, hair coming out in handfuls in the shower, could well indicate a health problem.

Female hair loss can have many causes. Some of these can be the same causes that affect men, such as poor diet, too much tension and an enlarged thyroid gland. However, there are also certain conditions that are specific to causing hair loss in women.
To be clear before I explain any further, when I am talking about hair loss it is not just complete baldness, but also I am referring to hair thinning. It is this hair thinning rather than the hair loss itself which usually first causes a woman to consult a medical professional to identify the cause of the problem.

When it comes to losing your hair it is obviously more a problem for men than for women. However as we age we lose will all start losing our hair and when you wake up in the morning and find more hair on your pillow than on your head it will certainly be horrifying. Obviously unless you have a really serious problem it really is just a few strands at a time rather than in clumps. Many men start leaning towards baldness from middle age and if your father was bald this will be cause for a certain degree of panic for men. It is said that baldness is hereditary but this is not true for everyone. Some men start losing hair even if their fathers had a healthy mop of it till the day the passed on.

The onset of menopause can often lead to hair loss and has long been a part of aging that many women fear the most. These days many more women are also experiencing thinning and bald spots as they mature, and both men and women are reaching out for new solutions. There is no denying the fact that baldness is more prevalent and more apparent in males than in females. However, women suffer more than men when they sense that they are losing hair at an abnormal pace because females tend to attach a great deal of importance to the quality and quantity of hair.
So many men go bald and nearly all women seem to have heads full of hair. The question, naturally is if baldness discriminates on the basis of gender. That would be grossly unfair. Well, it would be unfair but the fact is even women suffer from hair loss. And if there is something that goes by the expression 'male pattern baldness', there is also a thing called 'female pattern baldness'.
